WOW: Look Where I Showed Up!

WOW = WIPs On Wednesdays

I'm delighted to be featured as a domestic machine quilter in this month's Machine Quilting Unlimited Magazine. It's always fun to be featured in a new magazine as it usually means new blog readers to connect with - I have such a large readership now that it still amazes me - especially over on Facebook where everything feels more live as it's so immediate. In many ways I feel that blogging has become a new kind of magazine, so many people pop in each day to see what's new and these days many of us (myself included) have an almost daily blogging read list. But still, there's something special about sitting down with a magazine and cup of coffee and I haven't yet found a laptop, tablet or mobile phone that beats it for comfort! I was really happy that this magazine arrived in the post yesterday - I actually did have a cup of coffee in my hand when the door bell rang and it was a lovely surprise - some exciting new reading!

What's your favourite quilting magazine? I'd love to know. At the moment, I'd have to say that mine is Quilt Mania as it's certainly the one I purchase most regularly. But then again, I surely haven't read them all - although I'd like to. Any suggestions most welcome :)

What's Your WOW?

  1. Congratulations on your inclusion - it looks like a lovely piece that's been shown! I enjoy Quilting Arts - another American magazine - but almost anything that features quilting is fair game for me!

  6. Much deserved recognition of your wonderful quilting, Esther! The magazine looks very interesting as machine quilting is my favourite aspect of quilt making. Quiltmania is my favourite magazine. There is a fairly new magazine available here in the UK called Today's Quilter that I quite like,as well. So many of the magazines here focus on quick projects for beginners. I prefer a challenge.

    I haven't purchased a quilt magazine in ages, come to think of it. There's so much to see in the blogging world! :)

  10. I always use quilt magazines for inspiration, but never for the patterns. I love old magazines, just to enjoy. I got a present a few month ago. Three 30 years old magazines!! I browse in those magazines for hours and love to read how they made those quilts. Some of those quilts realy looks 'modern'. I love also the old advertisements.

  11. Congratulations, Machine Quilting Unlimited is brilliant. I used to love QNM and then it got taken over and went for quick projects. The Quilter from AQS used to be good too but has less to interest me these days. QuiltMania is probably the best arround. I hold onto my old QNMs which go back over 25 years.....

  12. Congrats on your feature, you deserve it and many more!
    I don't know enough about quilting magazines to have a favorite. I buy mine from our guild for 5 for $1 after members donate them to the quilt guild library. I pick them up based on if there is an interesting quilt on the front cover.
