WOW: Almost there...

WOW = WIPs On Wednesday

I've been making progress (I should really call it catching up) but still feel like the week has just rushed away. I didn't realise just how much I value the time I carve out for my quilting throughout the week and I've missed the time I usually spend on all these little habits I've created. It got me to thinking about how I allocate my time each day and I wonder, what about you? How much time each day do you commit to quilting or any other craft of yours? I'd love to know.

I'll admit I've been quite frustrated out going over my pattern work for the next BOM. I really dislike doing things twice and it also means that all my computer time has spent spent on this one task. The motivating news is that I'm nearly finished and excited all over again to share it with you...finally...

I missed out on my usual blog time and was looking forward to catching up with the WOW and already it's a week on.... oh well, I'm getting there and am looking forward to seeing what you're all up to...

What's Your WOW ?

  1. How much time is allocated to quilt related projects? Not nearly enough.....all too often I let other things take precedence.....think I need to change that.
As for the computer problem....the exact thing happened to me recently, I had to almost completely redo hours of work....I had backed up, I had saved.....but the program went wonky and it just did not matter...the work was lost. I feel your pain. :-)
So glad to know you persisted.....I am looking forward to seeing your next BOM.....I know that it will be FABULOUS!

  3. I am straining to see what you are working on LOL.
I spend a couple of hours a day working on something, usually after lunch. In the mornings get my workout done then house chores and then after lunch my time to stitch.

  4. I know exactly what you mean about allocating time to quilting. With my job and remodeling my kitchen its hard to fine time to quilt. My time has been so scares that I haven't had time to posted on my blog for a year now. I try to steal a fews minutes here and there to work on my quilts:-)
So sorry you're dealing with all the computer issues I know its must be hard
I'm lucky my husband is a computer adim so he is always ready to fix my computer when it gets womky:-)

  5. Esther, as the summer months progress here in the states I struggle with spending time on my sewing or quilting... It is very frustrating but I do spent time on my hosta garden and swimming in the lake. Thanks for the Linky party!

  6. How much time? Depends upon the week and the season. I work 4 very long days for pay so I can have a day off during the week to catch up on chores and projects. In reality I get maybe 1 of the 4 to do what I want to do. In the winter months, I spend at least 8 hours of my weekend with the potential to do quilting, but in the summer, outdoor activities always win. This is a huge change from my consulting days when I could always squeeze in a hour or so most days since I was in charge of my schedule.

  7. If those patterns on the table have anything to do with the new BOM, we have our work cut out!

Trying to spend as much time as possible stitching, but it always feels too short.

  8. I am happily retired so I can spend the time quilting that I only used to dream about! I just love that freedom. I probably spend about 6 hours per day in the sewing room. Sometimes I sit there just playing with some computer software, planning a quilt. Sometimes my time is spent watching the embroidery machine! But it is all fun, and I am truly blessed.

  9. I sew about 2 hours a day. I wish I had more time for it. Often I sew by hand only in the evening. On your new BOM I'm very excited.

  10. Wow, that was quick - I was too slow to link up this week! Never mind, it is much more effective being kept short. I love your blog Esther and thanks for visiting mine so often. love Marianne

  11. I'm retired - thank goodness - so I have lots of time to spend on my quilting (and knitting and hand spinning). At at 66 years old I've finally realized if my cluttered house doesn't bother my husband then who cares? I'd rather spend the rest of my life crafting than cleaning. It is my responsibility to cook dinner each night, and it is often hard to stop for that LOL! My hubby does most of the laundry, cleans and does the dishes. How lucky did I get!
