OK, so November has taken me by surprise even though I tell myself each year that this whirlwind of a month won't pass me by so unexpectedly again. 

 I'm taking charge today. It's time for me to organize my projects.  

Today I'm working to finish my LE angels before I clear my desk for the launch of BOM 2019.

And WOW is all I can say.

I wonder what you'll say?!

WOW: Love Entwined Border Progress

WOW = WIPs On Wednesdays

There's been so much 'Love Entwined' activity making the rounds lately, especially on Facebook. Seeing so many completed masterpieces has put me in the right mood to return to my own. It has been 5 years after all. I know! I just said 5 years. Let that sink in! Time surely flies when you're designing quilts.

These little leaves are perhaps the hardest applique motif on the quilt, so I'm pleased to have them all done. I've done some embroidery stitches on the centre basket too. Oooh just looking over this beauty fills me up with all those ideas of intrigue and mystery all over again.

I'm playing around with the idea of some pretty fussy cutting for my border flowers and here I am,  turning their little edges.

Aren't these lovely? I'm determined to have my border completed this week and the way I'm progressing, I really might just manage it.

Lily Roser's this is YOUR post!

WOW! November, what is going on? Just last week, 'Red Delicious' enjoyed a revival with a group of lovely ladies deciding to use it as their sew along pattern. Then this weekend, the love has turned to 'Lily Rose'! I feel like every time I check my email, there's a new request or notification for a group sew along, talk about busy! Just when I thought it was time to wind down for the year, a new buzz of activity has started up - a whole new group of quilting newbies are getting together to make Lily Rose in person and they're starting in December.

I mean, what a way to start an adventure. They've selected Lily Rose because they all love it (obviously) but have also told me that my blog posts about each step of the making process won them over - they love the idea of being able to check back on how I created my own stunner. I also think the manageable size must have played a part too. Honestly, I think Lily Rose is a fabulous group project and I am already in anticipation for the beauties that will come from this latest group quilt along. This gathering of ladies are on a tight budget and kindly asked me to help them start this 'Lily Rose' caravan.. and HOW COULD I REFUSE?

WOW: Lavender Blues

I've been gardening this last week and will continue on with that today. I just feel that it's too nice to be inside sewing whilst the gentle sun is shining and the warm wind is blowing. Mostly, this time of year I'm just confused, seasonally speaking. This year my plants are confused too. In my mind I'm hardwired to think it's autumn with all the cosy visions that inspires. In reality, in my part of the world, it's actually spring.. which keeps taking me by surprise. My plants are all in a tizz too. It's been very warm and then very cool with bursts of rain. All the plants are confused and growing, then not growing and then shedding - all out of 'season'. 

This is the second time this year my lavender has gone crazy. I had to cut it down again because it was becoming straggly. Although I had already cut it down once this year. I collect, dry and then turn my lavender into sachets for the household by stitching handfuls into cotton bags. I have so much scrap material that it's never an issue to zip 50 or so up in an afternoon. I put them everywhere I have a cupboard and it usually keeps all the pesky insects away. 

I missed my lavender routine last year and my wardrobe was attacked by moths, so I'm not making that same mistake again. I love the aroma too. Nothing beats natural, fresh dried lavender wafting through the house each time I open a door. This creature is a lizard. Actually I think it's a gecko. I found him under a pot plant and put him back soon after this pic. What a cutey. I usually avoid outdoor critters but for some reason the mini lizards don't bother me.

Today I'm planting some herbs. I can never get enough fresh sprigs of herbs in just about everything. Even tea. And a fresh planting today means I'll be enjoying a whole new bounty right after Christmas. After that I'll be heading indoors for my usual pre-Christmas quilting binge as I have some quiet days ahead at home..
